Obtaining XP
Almost everything you do on Nircraft earns XP. The steadiest source is simply playing, but nearly every activity pays out on top of that. Most sources have a daily limit so no single method is too powerful. See XP Caps for those limits. It's also worth noting that paid tiers grant XP multipliers, up to 1.5x the normal XP granted from all activities.
Playtime
You earn XP for every minute of active survival playtime, boosted by a survival streak multiplier that grows the longer you stay alive without dying. However, you do not gain XP while AFK.
Mining and gathering
Breaking ores awards XP depending on how valuable the ore is:
| Ore | XP |
|---|---|
| Coal / Copper | 15 |
| Iron | 40 |
| Gold | 80 |
| Redstone / Lapis | 72 |
| Emerald | 176 |
| Diamond | 180 |
| Ancient Debris | 520 |
Mining a spawner gives 100 XP. Harvesting crops and fishing also pay out (fishing has its own collection bonus on top).
Combat
- Monster kills and passive mob kills award XP per kill
- PvP kills, duels, and kills during FFA matches reward XP for defeating other players
- Bosses pay big: the Ender Dragon, Wither, and Warden each have their own generous daily allowances
- Night events such as Overcharged Creepers and baby-monster hordes award 300 XP per kill
Monster kill XP
XP awarded per kill, by mob type:
| Mob | XP per kill |
|---|---|
| Warden | 8,000 |
| Ender Dragon | 5,000 |
| Wither | 3,000 |
| Elite monsters (Enderman, Blaze, Piglin Brute, Evoker, Ravager, Shulker) | 120 |
| Standard hostile monsters | 120 |
| Passive animals | 10 |
| Spawner-spawned monsters | 7 |
| Raid mobs (after your daily raid is done) | 7 |
| Silverfish | 4 |
Anti-farm rules
- Spawner mobs always give 7 XP, no matter the type, so mob farms cannot be used to grind levels.
- Endermen and Zombified Piglins give the normal 120 XP, but if you mass-farm them their XP drops to 7 for one hour.
- Raid mobs only give full XP for your first raid of the day; farming further raids drops them to 7.
- Baby monsters award a bonus on top of the base kill XP.
- Certain Sheer Forger tools can modify the combat XP you earn.
Monster, passive, and boss kills all have daily XP caps.
Exploration and loot
- Structure chests award a one-time XP bonus the first time you loot them, scaling with the structure's danger:
| Structure | XP |
|---|---|
| Ocean Ruin / Pillager Outpost | 80 |
| Desert Temple | 120 |
| Jungle Temple | 160 |
| Woodland Mansion | 200 |
| Mineshaft / Stronghold | 220 |
| End City | 300 |
| Buried Treasure | 400 |
| Ancient City | 650 |
- Trial vaults in trial chambers give large XP rewards (one of the highest daily allowances)
- Advancements pay by difficulty: 250 for a task, 750 for a goal, 2,000 for a challenge
- Discovering new biomes gives 50 XP each and feeds the Biomes collection, granting large amounts of XP per biome collected.
Collections
Filling out Collections (Bestiary, Biomes, Fishing, Discs, and Enchants) awards XP for each new entry you discover. The reward scales up as you near completion, with the final entry in a set worth up to 5,000 XP.
Villagers and animals
- Trading with villagers awards XP
- Breeding animals gives 20 XP each
- Taming animals gives 50 XP each
Server activities
- Voting for the server awards 1,000 XP per vote
- Quests are offered by quest giver NPCs that spawn around the world. Completing them is one of the largest steady XP sources, and the payout scales with your level, so quests are worth more the higher you climb. From level 50 they can also reward Stars of Nir.
- Reading server news in-game grants a small XP reward
- Players with paid tiers can claim a daily XP bonus of up to 15,000 XP
