Editing Obtaining XP in Progression

Almost everything you do on Nircraft earns XP. The steadiest source is simply playing, but nearly every activity pays out on top of that. Most sources have a daily limit so no single method is too powerful. See XP Caps for those limits. It's also worth noting that paid tiers grant XP multipliers, up to 1.5x the normal XP granted from all activities.

Playtime

You earn 20 XP for every minute of active survival playtime. Your survival streak adds 4% for every hour you stay alive without dying, up to triple after 50 hours. You do not gain XP while AFK.

Mining and gathering

Breaking ores awards XP depending on how valuable the ore is:

OreXP
Coal / Copper15
Nether Quartz20
Iron40
Nether Gold44
Gold80
Redstone / Lapis72
Emerald176
Diamond180
Ancient Debris520

Breaking a spawner the world made gives 1,100 XP. Harvesting crops and fishing also pay out (fishing has its own collection bonus on top).

Combat

  • Monster kills and passive mob kills award XP per kill
  • PvP kills, duels, and kills during FFA matches reward XP for defeating other players. Winning a duel pays 600 XP (inventory) or 500 XP (kit), once per opponent a day, and every FFA kill pays 1,000 XP (popping someone's totem pays 250 XP, except in crystal FFAs)
  • Bosses pay big: the Ender Dragon, Wither, and Warden each have their own generous daily allowances
  • Night events such as Overcharged Creepers and baby-monster hordes award 300 XP per kill

Monster kill XP

Overworld monsters have a level, set by the lowest-level player nearby when they spawn. The higher their level, the more XP they give: about 20 XP at level 1, 120 at level 50 and about 234 at level 100. Monsters in the Nether and End always give 120.

XP awarded per kill, by mob type:

MobXP per kill
Warden8,000
Ender Dragon5,000
Wither3,000
Elite monsters (Enderman, Blaze, Piglin Brute, Evoker, Ravager, Shulker)120, by level
Standard hostile monsters120, by level
Leader zombies (rare, spawn with lots of extra health)3x the normal amount
Passive animals10
Spawner-spawned monsters7
Raid mobs (after your daily raid is done)7
Silverfish1

Anti-farm rules

  • Spawner mobs always give 7 XP, no matter the type, so mob farms cannot be used to grind levels.
  • Endermen and Zombified Piglins give the normal 120 XP, but if you mass-farm them their XP drops to 7 for one hour.
  • Raid mobs only give full XP for your first raid of the day; farming further raids drops them to 7.
  • Creakings only give XP when you break a Creaking Heart that grew naturally. A heart you placed gives nothing.
  • Baby monsters award a bonus on top of the base kill XP.
  • Certain Sheer Forger tools can modify the combat XP you earn.

Monster, passive, and boss kills all have daily XP caps.

Exploration and loot

  • Structure chests award a one-time XP bonus to whoever opens them first, scaling with the structure's danger:
StructureXP
Village / Ruined Portal / Igloo40
Shipwreck60
Ocean Ruin / Pillager Outpost80
Desert Temple120
Nether Fortress150
Jungle Temple160
Woodland Mansion200
Stronghold220
End City300
Buried Treasure / Bastion400
Trial Chambers500
Ancient City650
Mineshaft minecart1,500
Dungeon chest (next to a spawner)2,000

Mineshaft minecarts and dungeon chests also have a 30% chance of a Star of Nir, and trial chamber chests a 10% chance, up to 10 a day.

  • Trial vaults in trial chambers give large XP rewards (one of the highest daily allowances)
  • Advancements pay by difficulty: 250 for a task, 750 for a goal, 2,000 for a challenge
  • Discovering new biomes fills your Biomes collection, and each new biome pays more than the last.

Spires

Every monster you kill in a Spire pays XP, and it pays more the higher you climb: 10 XP a kill on the first stage, about 40 on stage 20, about 185 on stage 50 and about 710 on stage 100. Leader zombies pay three times as much, as they do outside. Clearing a layer for the first time pays 1,500 XP. A full climb is worth about 250,000 XP.

Collections

Filling out Collections (Bestiary, Biomes, Fishing, Discs, and Enchants) awards XP for each new entry you discover, and later entries pay more. A full collection is worth:

CollectionTotal XP
Enchants300,000
Bestiary200,000
Biomes100,000
Fishing50,000

Discs pay more for each new disc, up to 5,000 XP for the last one.

Villagers and animals

  • Trading with villagers awards XP
  • Breeding animals gives 20 XP each
  • Taming animals gives 50 XP each

Server activities

  • Quests are offered by quest giver NPCs that spawn around the world. Completing them is one of the largest steady XP sources, and the payout scales with your level, so quests are worth more the higher you climb. From level 50 they can also reward Stars of Nir, and every quest pays 25 Prism Shards.
  • Reading server news in-game grants 500 XP
  • Players with paid tiers can claim a daily XP bonus: 4,000 for Supporter, 8,000 for Elite and 15,000 for Ultra
